Nira Narsingpur is a village in Indapur taluka of Pune district , Maharashtra, India.[1]The confluence of rivers Bhima and Nira is 3 km from the temple. The temple is the Kuldaiwat (Family deity) for a number of Marathi families of different castes.
Driving Directions from Pune to Nira Narsingpur: From Pune drive via the National Highway 9 going towards South East till you reach Tembhurni → Turn right onto Tembhurni-Akluj Road → Sharp right onto Nira Narsinhpur Road to reach the Narsinha Temple. Google Map Direction [2]
Going by bus [MSRTC]:
From Shivajinagar / Swargate (preferred) bus stand board a bus going via or to Tembhurni [Fare-Rs 110 (from Shivajinagar) or Rs. 158 (from Swargate as on Mid June 2011)approx.]
Get down at Tembhurni (at a T point before the bus stand) and take a jeep taxi/MSRTC bus. These generally stand opposite the bus stand [Fare-Rs.10 approx for private and Rs. 8 for MSRTC bus]. The jeep will drop you to a point, 3 km away from the main temple which is known as Sangam.
Take a shared autorickshaw to the entrance of the main temple [Fare-Rs.5 per person]
The travel time is approx 4 hours from Pune and one can return to Pune the same day.
Going by Train : Take the Pune-Solapur Passenger which leaves Pune Station at 08.30 A.M. [Fare-Rs. 24] Get down at Jeur Station
Take a MSRTC bus for Tembhurni from Jeur [Fare-Rs. 15] or take shared autorikshaw from Jeur [Fare-Rs. 25 as on Mid June 2011].
Take a private jeep from Tembhurni which will drop you to a point, 3 km away from the main temple.
